You don't need full university tuition. Accredited Dubai colleges run English-language courses from 6 months that come with a student visa — from about USD 6,500 (≈ AED 24,000). It's the affordable way to live and study in Dubai, and a pathway to a diploma or degree later.

The Rwanda advantage

English is your edge — get the paperwork right and you're in

For a Rwandan student the two things that decide a Dubai application are the English medium of instruction and clean, correctly legalised documents. Both are firmly in your favour, and we handle the second one for you.

Your English is already accepted

Because Rwandan secondary and university study is in English, most Dubai universities accept a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter from your school instead of IELTS — often no English test at all.

Attestation done right, once

UAE does not accept an apostille. Your certificates need MINAFFET in Kigali, then the UAE embassy, then MOFAIC in the UAE. We map the exact order and the proof-of-funds so nothing is rejected.

🗣️ Because Rwanda's education is now in English, most universities accept a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter from your school or college in place of IELTS.
The money

What it really costs

Budget roughly AED 30,000–55,000 a year for tuition depending on the university, plus about AED 3,000–5,000 for the visa and Emirates ID and AED 2,000–3,500 a month to live in shared housing. We convert every figure to Rwandan francs for your chosen course on request.

Rwanda — your questions

What Rwandan students ask us

Do I need IELTS if I studied in English in Rwanda?
Usually not. Because your schooling was in English, most Dubai universities accept an MOI letter from your institution. A few programmes may ask for IELTS, Duolingo or their own internal English test — we confirm the exact rule for your chosen university before you apply.
How do I get my Rwandan certificates attested for the UAE?
Your degree and transcripts must first be attested by MINAFFET (the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in Kigali, then legalised by the UAE embassy, and finally attested by MOFAIC inside the UAE. An apostille alone is not accepted — the UAE requires full legalisation. We give you the step-by-step order.
Can I work in Dubai while I study?
Yes. A UAE student residence visa lets you take part-time work, and earnings are tax-free. It won't cover full tuition, but it genuinely helps with rent and daily costs while you build local experience.
Is it cheaper than sending me to the UK or India?
For most families, yes overall. Tuition is lower than a UK campus, flights from Kigali are short and cheap, there's no expensive visa gauntlet, and you still earn the same British or Australian degree — while staying much closer to home than the UK or Canada.

Official facts & sources

The facts below come from official UAE authorities and are dated. Rules change — always re-check the source before you apply.

🛂 Student visa

A UAE student residence visa is issued for one year at a time, renewable on proof of continued study, and is sponsored by your accredited university or college (or a UAE-resident parent). Entry permits and the Emirates ID are handled federally by ICP; residency in Dubai by GDRFA Dubai.

🎓 A recognised degree

Private universities in Dubai and their programmes are licensed by KHDA (its UQAIB board vets international branch campuses); federal-system programmes are accredited by the CAA. Confirm your university and your specific programme are listed before you pay.

📑 Attestation from Rwanda

Your degree and certificates must be attested in Rwanda (its Ministry of Foreign Affairs), legalised by the UAE embassy, and then attested by MOFAIC inside the UAE. The UAE is not part of the Apostille Convention, so an apostille alone is not accepted — you need full legalisation.
