Who sponsors it and what you need

🏛️ The university sponsors you

In the UAE your accredited university applies for and sponsors your student residence visa — you can't self-sponsor an ordinary student visa. The visa is issued by the UAE authorities (ICP/GDRFA), and is typically valid for one year and renewed while you're enrolled.

📄 What you'll need

An unconditional offer letter, a valid passport, passport photos, attested academic certificates, proof of funds, and mandatory health insurance. You must be 18+. We give you a personal checklist so nothing is missing.

Step by step

From offer letter to residence visa

Get your unconditional offer

Once you accept a place and meet the conditions, the university starts your visa process. This is where choosing the right university and meeting English requirements (including no-IELTS routes) matters.

Entry permit issued

The university applies for your entry permit (a single-entry visa that lets you travel to the UAE). Processing is usually around 10–15 working days.

Travel to the UAE

You enter Dubai on the entry permit. Your residence-visa process is then completed inside the country.

Medical fitness test + Emirates ID

You complete a standard medical fitness test and give biometrics for your Emirates ID. Both are required to convert the entry permit into a residence visa.

Residence visa stamped

Your student residence visa is issued and linked to your Emirates ID. You're now a legal resident for the duration of your studies, renewed each year.

Settle in

Open a bank account, get a local SIM, sort accommodation and (optionally) apply for a part-time work permit. Our arrival pack can handle these for you.

💼 Part-time work

You can work around 20 hours/week with a MoHRE work permit and a No-Objection Certificate from your university — and keep 100% of it, because income in the UAE is tax-free.

🎓 Post-study stay-back

UAE graduates can apply for a 1-year residence visa (renewable) on their attested certificate — no employer needed — to job-hunt and stay on.

🏅 Green & Golden Visa

Land a qualifying job for the Green Visa, or, as a top graduate (GPA ≥3.5 from a top-100 or Class-A/B university), the 10-year Golden Visa — which lets you sponsor family too.

How much does the Dubai student visa cost?
Roughly AED 3,000–7,000 all-in, depending on the university and what's bundled (entry permit, medical, Emirates ID, stamping). Health insurance (~AED 1,200–2,500/yr) is separate. Some universities package it into a single fee — we'll get you the exact figure.
How long does it take?
The entry permit is typically around 10–15 working days, then the medical, Emirates ID and stamping are done after you arrive. Start 6–8 weeks before your intake to be safe.
How much proof of funds do I need?
Enough to show you can support your studies and living costs; the exact requirement depends on the university and your situation. Recent, correctly-named bank statements are essential. This is the single most common reason files get delayed — we help you get it right first time.
Do you process the visa for me?
No — your university sponsors and the UAE authorities issue the visa. We are not an immigration agent. What we do is guide you: the right checklist, correct documents, proof of funds and attestation, and keeping your timeline on track so nothing derails your intake.
Can my family come with me?
Ordinary students generally can't sponsor family, but top graduates on a Golden Visa can. If you're already a UAE resident, a parent may be able to sponsor you. We'll assess your specific case.
