After you graduate

The Gulf career path for Kenyan graduates

Dubai isn't just where you study — it's where you launch a career, tax-free.

🏢 Sectors that are hiring

Finance, logistics and trade, hospitality and tourism, technology, healthcare and construction all run on international graduates. A Dubai degree puts you where the roles actually are.

🛂 Post-study stay-back

Graduates can apply for a 1-year residence visa (renewable) on their attested certificate — no employer needed — to stay in Dubai and job-hunt.

🏅 Green & Golden Visa

Land a skilled job for the self-sponsored Green Visa, or, as a top graduate, the 10-year Golden Visa — which lets you sponsor your family too.

We also make sure your proof of funds and KCSE/degree attestation are correct before submission — the details that cause refusals. See the full student-visa guide.

Kenya FAQs

Common questions from Kenyan students

Do I need IELTS to study in Dubai from Kenya?
Usually not — most Dubai universities accept a Medium-of-Instruction (MOI) letter or their own internal English test, since your schooling was in English. See our no-IELTS guide.
Can I work during and after my studies?
Yes — part-time work (tax-free) with a permit while studying, and a post-study residence visa afterwards to job-hunt in the Gulf. Top graduates may qualify for the Green or Golden Visa.
What jobs can I get after studying in Dubai?
Dubai's economy hires international graduates across finance, logistics and trade, technology, hospitality, healthcare and construction. With a post-study visa you can stay and job-hunt, and salaries are tax-free — a recognised Dubai degree plus local experience is a strong Gulf CV.
Can I settle in the UAE long-term after I graduate?
Yes — a skilled job can lead to a self-sponsored Green Visa, and top graduates may qualify for the 10-year Golden Visa, which also lets you sponsor family. We point you to the current thresholds for each route.

Official facts & sources

The facts below come from official UAE authorities and are dated. Rules change — always re-check the source before you apply.

🛂 Student visa

A UAE student residence visa is issued for one year at a time, renewable on proof of continued study, and is sponsored by your accredited university or college (or by a UAE-resident parent). Entry permits and the Emirates ID are handled federally by ICP; residency in Dubai by GDRFA Dubai.

🎓 A recognised degree

Private universities in Dubai and their programmes are licensed by KHDA (its UQAIB board vets international branch campuses); federal-system programmes are accredited by the CAA. Confirm your university and your specific programme are listed before you pay.

📑 Attestation from Kenya

Your degree and certificates must be attested in Kenya (Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs), legalised by the UAE embassy, and then attested by MOFAIC inside the UAE. The UAE is not part of the Apostille Convention, so an apostille alone is not accepted — you need full legalisation.
