🩺 Sort it before you fly

Your 417 visa doesn't include health cover

In Australia an emergency, an accident or a single day in hospital can cost you thousands of dollars out of pocket. OVHC (Overseas Visitors Health Cover) protects you for the weeks or months you're there — and you can sort it here in minutes.

🔎 We don't sell one company — you compare and choose

Independent comparison: several insurers and prices in one place ✓ Pick the plan that suits you and buy it online ✓ Medical, hospital and emergency cover during your stay ✓ Pay by weeks or months — only the time you'll be there ✓ Ireland's reciprocal agreement only covers essentials — OVHC fills the gaps (ambulance, dental & repatriation)

Frequently asked questions

Who can apply for the Australia Working Holiday visa from Ireland?
Irish citizens aged 18 to 35 (inclusive) with a valid Irish passport, around AUD 5,000 in funds and no dependent children travelling with them can apply for the 417 visa. Eligibility is set by the Department of Home Affairs — always confirm on immi.homeaffairs.gov.au.
Do Irish citizens need the 88 days of regional work?
Yes. To qualify for a second 417 visa, Irish passport holders must complete the specified (regional) work of 88 days, with further regional work needed for a third year. Only UK passport holders are currently exempt. Always confirm the current rule on immi.homeaffairs.gov.au.
Is there a quota or a ballot for Irish applicants?
No. The 417 visa for Irish citizens is uncapped, with no ballot, so you can apply at any time of year — no need to wait for a date.
Do you arrange the visa for me?
No — we're an arrival and settlement support service, not a migration agent. You apply for the 417 visa yourself with the Department of Home Affairs. We make your arrival easy: pickup, accommodation, SIM, bank, TFN, CV and job search.
Is the support in English?
Yes, support for this programme is in English. The team also speaks Spanish.
How much money should I bring?
Home Affairs asks for around AUD 5,000 to support yourself. Realistically, budget a cushion for your bond + first month's rent and living costs until your first pay (Sydney is the priciest city).
Can I pay in EUR?
Payment is processed in AUD via Stripe; your card/bank converts from EUR automatically (a small foreign-exchange fee from your bank may apply). Some debit cards block international payments by default — you can enable that in your banking app.
